《培生兒童英語分級閱讀》的編寫是在權威調(diào)查的基礎上進行的，在調(diào)查中發(fā)現(xiàn)在英語里，有12個單詞占我們?nèi)块喿x詞匯的25%，有20個單詞占10%，另有68個單詞占剩下的20%。這意味著，在英語里，僅僅100個單詞就占我們生活中所用單詞的50%。這些單詞我們稱之為“高頻詞”。在本套讀物中，重點單詞不斷重復地出現(xiàn)在文章當中，我們通過這種方式把重點單詞系統(tǒng)地引入到孩子的學習中去，讓孩子們通過不斷地重復，快速地熟悉生活中常用的高頻詞匯。每級在詞匯引入方面的嚴格控制，可以讓孩子們在閱讀開始時不會感覺到困難，從而增強閱讀的成就感，培養(yǎng)閱讀的興趣。
