昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)是生態(tài)學(xué)專(zhuān)業(yè)的一門(mén)重要專(zhuān)業(yè)課程。其開(kāi)設(shè)的目的是該專(zhuān)業(yè)的學(xué)生
了解昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)的基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)，掌握主要農(nóng)作物的害蟲(chóng)的發(fā)生規(guī)律和防治措施，為今后的防治實(shí)踐
奠定良好的理論和實(shí)踐基礎(chǔ)。
昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)是一門(mén)綜合性學(xué)科，它必須講授昆蟲(chóng)外部形態(tài)、昆蟲(chóng)生理學(xué)、昆蟲(chóng)生物學(xué)、昆蟲(chóng)
分類(lèi)、昆蟲(chóng)生態(tài)學(xué)及害蟲(chóng)預(yù)測(cè)預(yù)報(bào)、害蟲(chóng)綜合防治原理及方法等基礎(chǔ)知識(shí)，為講授農(nóng)作物害
蟲(chóng)奠定基礎(chǔ)。
昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)中各論部分實(shí)踐性、地區(qū)性、時(shí)間性均很強(qiáng)，因此以長(zhǎng)江中下游地區(qū)和江蘇省的
主要害蟲(chóng)為主，具體講授水稻、小麥、棉花、蔬菜、林果等作物發(fā)生的主要害蟲(chóng)及地下害蟲(chóng)，
使同學(xué)們能夠融會(huì)貫通、舉一反三。
昆蟲(chóng)學(xué)理論課以課堂講授為主，結(jié)合實(shí)驗(yàn)教學(xué)，以加深理解課程的內(nèi)容。課堂講授主次
分明，重點(diǎn)突出。多講授一些最新動(dòng)態(tài)，以教師的實(shí)踐經(jīng)驗(yàn)提高學(xué)生興趣；進(jìn)行課堂提問(wèn)，
督促學(xué)生復(fù)習(xí)；在教學(xué)中根據(jù)不同專(zhuān)業(yè)特點(diǎn)，可適當(dāng)刪除和補(bǔ)充相關(guān)作物害蟲(chóng)講述，并向不
同專(zhuān)業(yè)學(xué)生提供相關(guān)的參考書(shū)和專(zhuān)業(yè)雜志目錄，并督促學(xué)生閱讀，以擴(kuò)大學(xué)生知識(shí)面，提高
學(xué)生分析問(wèn)題和解決問(wèn)題的綜合能力。
