  During a bullfight, a drunk suddenly wandered into the middle of the ring.
The crowd began to shout, but the drunk was unaware of the danger. 1)crowd,人群。crowd也可以用作表量的名詞,如:a crowd of people。 2)be unaware of,沒有意識(shí)到。
The bull was busy with the matador at the time, but it suddenly caught sight of the drunk who was shouting rude remarks and waving a red cap. 1)be busy with sb.,忙著應(yīng)對(duì)某人。 2)matador,斗牛士。 3)catch sight of,突然看到。 5)注意cap(無邊的鴨舌帽)與hat(有邊的禮帽)的區(qū)別。
Apparently sensitive to criticism, the bull forgot all about the matador and charged at the drunk. 2)be sensitive to,對(duì)... 3)criticism,批評(píng)。其動(dòng)詞為criticize(批判),形容詞為critical(挑剔的)。 4)forget all about,徹底忘了。 5)charge at,朝...
The crowd suddenly grew quiet. The drunk, however, seemed quite sure of himself. 2)be sure of oneself,對(duì)自己很有把握。
When the bull got close to him he clumsily stepped aside to let it pass. 1)get close to,靠近。
The crowd broke into cheers and the drunk bowed.
By this time, however, three men had come into the ring and they quickly dragged the drunk to safety. 1)by this time,到這時(shí)為止。 源自形容詞safe(安全的)。
Even the bull seemed to feel sorry for him, for it looked on sympathetically until the drunk was out of the way before once more turning its attention to the matador. 1)seem to do,似乎、好像。 源自名詞sympathy(同情),其形容詞為sympathetic(同情的)。 4)be out of the way,不礙事、不擋路。 5)turn one"s attention to,轉(zhuǎn)移注意力到...。
