Global Warming
The North Pole and the South Pole of the earth are covered with ice. As long as the ice stays frozen, everything is okay. But what happens if this ice begins to melt?
Well, for one thing, the water in the world's oceans will rise. You might be thinking, "So what?" But think a little harder.
A lot of people live near the oceans. If the ice in the north and south melts, many cities will be flooded. Millions of people will have to move away from the rising oceans.
But that's not all. As the ice melts, the oceans will become colder. Many plants and animals will not be able to adjust to the new water temperatures. Nature's balance will be upset.
No one knows for sure if the ice in the poles will melt. But if it does, there will be many problems. Let's do something about it now, before it's too late
